Republic of Serbia became a member of the Finance Committee of the WCO

The Customs Administration of the Republic of Serbia attended the 137th Session of the Council of the World Customs Organization, that took place in a virtual manner, from December 10 to 12.

The Republic of Serbia became a Member of the Finance Committee of the World Customs Organization, as a delegate of the sub-group South of the European Region of the World Customs Organization.

The candidacy of the Republic of Serbia was received at the virtual meeting of the Heads of Delegation of the European Region of the WCO that was held in November 2020, which was the recognition of the Republic of Serbia`s dedication to a constructive co-operation within the World Customs Organization, as well as the confirmation that the Republic of Serbia possesses an adequate capacity for the successful performance of this important task.

The Finance Committee acts under the overall direction of the WCO Council. Its role and responsibility are to provide support and advice to the Policy Commission and the Council in budgetary and financial matters.
