Ten new taxpayers’ centers opened
Ten new Taxpayers’ services will begin to operate between May 19 and 27, 2004 in branch offices across Serbia, a press conference was told today, at Branch Office Novi Beograd 1. The new services are the continuation of the project dating from November 2003, when four such services were opened as pilot points at Regional centers (Belgrade, Novi Sad, Nis, and Kragujevac).
“Services for taxpayers represent a new sort of communication between the Tax Administration and the citizens. The services are a new, separate function of the Tax Administration, a service where the citizens can ask questions in direct contact – referring to the selected clerks, ask for necessary information and obtain it in the fastest possible way”, said on that occasion Mr. Vladimir Ilic, Head of the Tax Administration.
“Our plan is to improve this service through experience of working with citizens, and to expand the network of services by establishing them in other branch offices as well. The goal of the Tax Administration is to be ready to provide necessary information to the citizens in a friendly and professional way at any place”, said Vladimir Ilic.
The Tax Administration has created this service following the example of other tax administrations in the world that provide all possible aid to taxpayers in order to assist them in fulfilling their tax obligations voluntarily and efficiently. The Services are situated within branch offices and are marked with special signs. The services’ working hours are from 7:30 to 15:30.
