Serbian Delegation Called on World Bank and IMF for Larger Investments in Serbia

Serbian Minister of Finance Mirko Cvetkovic stated today that Serbian delegation called on International Monetary Fund and World Bank representatives in Washington to undertake more activities and investment efforts in Serbia. After attending the spring meetings of IMF and World Bank in Washington, Mr. Cvetkovic told Beta news agency that the two institutions were asked to invest more funds in Serbia, which would attract new investments and create new jobs.

Serbian delegation acted on behalf of the outgoing government and did not file a formal application, but it did inform representatives of the two institutions that the Government will have a different capacity after the elections, the Minister said. Mr. Cvetkovic added that World Bank and IMF representatives expressed great understanding for the request of the Serbian delegation.
