Boeing Industries interested for the renovation of the Serbian aviation
The Minister of Finance and Economy in the Government of the Republic of Serbia, Mr. Bozidar Djelic, declared that the American company “Boeing” – one of the world leading passenger airplane construction companies, was interested in the renovation of the Serbian civil aircraft fleet.
Minister Djlic, who participated to the extraordinary session of the World Economic Forum in Amman (Jordan), said that during the meeting he had talks with Mr. Bill Rhodes – President of the “City Group”, the world biggest financial institution. During his stay in Amman, Mr. Djelic also met with the US Secretary of State – Mr. Collin Powel.
Minister Djelic explained that the USA planned to invest 2.4 billion dollars in the reconstruction of Iraq by the end of the year, and added that during the next week a donors meeting will be organized, with the probable increase of this amount up four or five billion dollars.
During the meeting in Amman, the Finance Minister also had talks with the representatives of the Governments of the countries in the region, on the possibilities of the Serbian companies involvement in the process of reconstruction of Iraq, emphasizing the activities of possible engagement of Serbian companies on the regional market – such as civil construction, food exportation, wood and construction materials exportations, as well as exportation of metal works and cable industry products.
