Agreement on the regulation of the clearing debt payment

The delegation from Serbia and Montenegro, lead by the Minister of Finance and economy, Mr. Bozidar Djelic, met today with the Deputy Finance Minister of the Russian Federation, Mr. Sergey Kholotoukhine. The main subject of the talks was the regulation of the payment of the Russian Federation clearing debt in the amount of 1.291.947.538 clearing dollars, debt originated in the ‘80’s.

The repartition of the Russian Federation debt towards the countries successors of the former SFRY will be carried out as provided by the Vienna succession Agreement, as follows: 38% to Serbia and Montenegro, 23% to Croatia, 16% to Slovenia, 15.5% to Bosnia and Herzegovina and 7.5% to Macedonia. Negotiations concerning further payment details will be continued tomorrow.

This Agreement should regulate all the claims and all the obligations of our country towards the Russian Federation, originated by the beginning of the ‘90’s.

In the current of the day, the minister of Finance and Economy, Mr. Bozidar Djelic, should be meeting with the investors, interested in funds placement in Serbia and Montenegro.
